Features of the Gobi Baikal Nordic duvet
The Baikal high-end Nordic duvet from Gobi combines the highest performance and demands of the Nordic duvet market, combining high thermal capacity with extreme lightness, as its fill power is 850 cuin (Scale from 400 to 900 cuin). This is thanks to its Siberian white goose down and 100% cotton batiste fabric, thus placing it within the most exclusive range of Nordic duvets in the sleep sector .
INTERIOR FILLING. 100% Siberian Goose Virgin Down. This type of down, from the coldest regions of Siberia, is selected manually. This animal has plumage adapted to the extreme cold of the area, thus offering a soft, fluffy and light down but, at the same time, with the greatest thermal capacity of the duvet, thanks to the tiny filaments that envelop the cold air, which when heated, create a perfect microclimate inside, providing heat but allowing perspiration, which translates into a warm rest but without sweating.
FILLING WEIGHT. This duvet has a filling weight of 120 gr/m2, making it ideal for cool autumns or winters in temperate areas and unheated rooms and/or rooms with little thermal insulation. Handcrafted finish. High-end duvet fillings such as this Baikal duvet from Gobi are sewn with domestic (not industrial) machines, which culminates in an exclusive and artisanal manufacturing process.
FABRIC. 100% nano batiste cotton. This is a top quality fabric with extra-fine down proof treatment. It is a fabric obtained after a calendering process, which has a firm, very light, somewhat transparent, extra-soft warp and a slightly satiny surface. In this case, with a 350-thread braid that gives it maximum strength and softness.
THREAD COUNT . Fabrics with more than 200 threads per inch are more voluminous, softer and more durable than those with less than 200 threads. In this case, the Baikal duvet offers maximum softness, strength and adaptability. This fabric is made in Kassetten , that is, in squares with internal partitions, allowing for an adequate distribution of the filling inside, avoiding shifting and cold areas that can occur due to the seams.
FILLING POWER (CUIN). This duvet offers a Filling Power of 850 cuin , almost the highest level of graduation in the scale of measurement of the weight/volume ratio. It measures the comfort, the insulating capacity, lightness, recovery, fluffiness of the down flake. In Gobi duvets the filling power scale includes values between 400 and + 900 CUIN (unit of measurement). The higher the Filling Power, The duvet flake and its filaments will be larger. The higher the quality of the duvet, the lower the weight per m2.
KASSETTEN (BOX SYSTEM). This is, without a doubt, the best and most efficient way of distributing the down filling. Using squares of identical size, the down reaches even the edges of the seams, as this system forces the duvet to be filled square by square, with a precision of +/- 0.1 gr, thus achieving a perfect distribution of weight and volume throughout the duvet filling.
THERMAL LEVEL 3.5 (Scale from 1 to 4). This duvet, 100% Siberian goose, is a winter duvet which, unlike other mid- or low-range duvets, has a very high thermoregulatory capacity, that is, it adapts to our body temperature without making us sweat, offering a wide range of suitable temperatures for use, in this case 12 ºC - 21 ºC and the ideal average temperature of our room of 17 ºC.
SAFETY OF USE. The down used in Gobi duvets undergoes long sterilisation and hygiene processes, as it is subject to exhaustive quality control in accordance with EN 12935 regulations. Through a sterilisation process in which the down is subjected to a temperature of over 120 ºC, the total absence of any pathogen, germ, virus or bacteria is guaranteed, thus ensuring maximum product safety.

What is the Filling Power of a Nordic duvet?
Filling Power is a measurement scale that, in relation to the volume of air that each duvet is able to hold inside, gives us the precise weight/insulating capacity ratio. In other words, filling power (CUIN) measures the quantity (volume) of Duvet in relation to the same weight.
For example, the higher the quality of the filling, the lower the weight required, so a 210 gr/m2 duvet with a 700 filling power (fp) will be much more comfortable, light, insulating and fluffy than one with a 300 gr/m2 and 500 filling power.

Tips for the maintenance and washing of Gobi natural Nordic duvets
Gobi duvets feature unbeatable finishes and treatments, which ensure that the fillings will remain and be preserved in optimal condition for a long time. However, it is very important to follow a series of recommendations regarding washing:
- Airing. The duvet should be aired regularly so that the down can "breathe" and not become matted. If the duvet cover is used, it will not be necessary to wash it frequently.
- Washing. The manufacturer Gobi (Ferdown) recommends washing the duvet every two or three years. It also recommends doing so in a high-capacity machine and at a temperature below 30 degrees Celsius. It is also best to use a mild detergent that does not contain bleach or whitener. On the other hand, the duvet should be washed separately without any other clothing or bedding. You can also add two or three new balls, such as tennis balls, or dryer balls, to help keep the natural filling from clumping.
- Drying. Ideally, the duvet should be left to dry outdoors, but avoid direct sunlight. After this, it is advisable to tap the duvet filling a few times to fluff it up.
- Storage. The natural duvet should be stored in its own cotton cover, which is specially designed for its proper conservation. If you do not have one, you can buy a bag specifically for this purpose. It is very important to keep it in a cool, dry place.
Other tips: It is not recommended to use a vacuum cleaner on the duvet as it can cause the threads to separate and thus cause the duvet filling to come out.
