Features of the Gobi Sidney Nordic duvet
Nordic down and feather duvet with 100% satin cotton fabric which offers great thermal capacity, softness to the touch, and breathability, lightness and high moisture absorption capacity . In addition, cotton is a totally hypoallergenic fabric and satin makes it super soft .

INTERIOR FILLING. 90% European down and 10% feathers . This material obtained from geese in cold European areas guarantees excellent thermal properties. The high percentage of down and the mini-feathers make it soft, fluffy and light. Thanks to the tiny filaments of each down that envelop the cold air, which when heated, create a perfect microclimate inside the duvet, providing heat, but allowing perspiration at all times, this duvet offers a warm rest but without sweating.
FILLING WEIGHT. The weight of 220 gr/m2 of the Sidney duvet from Gobi is ideal for winter, allowing it to be used in a wide range of temperatures between 10 ºC and 19 ºC, with the ideal room temperature for use being 14-15 ºC. In addition, this down allows air to circulate inside, achieving optimal thermoregulation, which means that we do not sweat during sleep and improves our rest.
OUTER FABRIC. 100% cotton satin fabric, a material that provides a beautiful shine and softness. It is highly resistant, thermoregulating and breathable. It has a double-stitched finish, DOWN PROOF sealing system and is made in squares with an inner partition, which allows for proper distribution of the filling inside, avoiding shifting and cold areas that may occur due to the seams. This fabric has the highest level of purity, which guarantees high freshness and softness, low moisture absorption and high evaporation of the same, as well as breathability. In addition, cotton does not form balls, is washable and hypoallergenic.
THREAD COUNT . Fabrics with more than 200 threads per inch are more voluminous, softer and more durable than those with less than 200 threads. In this case, the Sidney Nordic duvet from Gobi offers high softness, resistance and adaptability. This fabric is made of satin , a fabric with a characteristic shine thanks to the way it is woven on a loom. A taffeta fabric (the most common when it is not indicated whether it is percale or satin) alternates one weft thread with one warp thread (horizontal and vertical), while satin alternates four threads to one, which results in superior softness, absence of noise and shine .
FILLIN POWER (CUIN ). This Nordic offers a Filling Power of 660 CUIN, a medium-high level of graduation on the scale of measurement of the weight/volume ratio. The CUIN or filling power measures the comfort, insulating capacity, lightness, recovery, fluffiness of the down fluff. In Gobi Nordic duvets the filling power scale includes values between 400 and 900 CUIN (unit of measurement). The higher the filling power, the larger the fluff and the filaments. The higher the quality of the duvet, the lower the weight per m2.
DIRECT PADDING. It is a very efficient way of distributing the feather and down filling. Through stitching lines, a perfect distribution of weight and volume is achieved throughout the duvet filling.
THERMAL LEVEL 4 (Scale from 1 to 4). The Gobi Sidney Nordic filling has a thermal level 4, recommended for rooms between 10 ºC and 19 ºC , with the ideal temperature being 14-15 ºC.
SAFETY OF USE. The down and feathers used in Gobi Nordic duvets are subjected to long sterilisation and hygiene processes, as they are subject to exhaustive quality control according to EN12935 regulations. Through a sterilisation process in which the down is subjected to a temperature of over 120 ºC, the total absence of any pathogen, germ, virus or bacteria is guaranteed, thus ensuring the maximum safety of the product.
What is Filling Power in Nordic duvets?
Filling Power is a measurement scale that, in relation to the volume of air that each duvet is able to hold inside, gives us the precise weight/insulating capacity ratio. In other words, filling power (CUIN) measures the quantity (volume) of Duvet in relation to the same weight.
For example, the higher the quality of the filling, the lower the weight required, so a 210 gr/m2 duvet with a 700 filling power (fp) will be much more comfortable, light, insulating and fluffy than one with a 300 gr/m2 and 500 filling power.

Care and washing tips for Gobi natural duvets
Gobi duvets feature unbeatable finishes and treatments, which ensure that the fillings will remain and be preserved in optimal condition for a long time. However, it is very important to follow a series of recommendations regarding washing:
- Airing. The duvet should be aired regularly so that the down can "breathe" and not become matted. If the duvet cover is used, it will not be necessary to wash it frequently.
- Washing. The manufacturer Gobi (Ferdown) recommends washing the duvet every two or three years. It also recommends doing so in a high-capacity machine and at a temperature below 30 degrees Celsius. It is also best to use a mild detergent that does not contain bleach or whiteners. On the other hand, the duvet should be washed separately without any other clothing or bedding. You can also add two or three new balls, tennis balls for example, or dryer balls, to help prevent the natural filling from becoming compacted.
- Dry. Ideally, you should let the duvet dry in the open air. However, avoiding direct sunlight. After this, it is advisable to give the Nordic filling a series of blows in order to fluff it up.
- Storage. The natural duvet should be stored in its own cotton cover, which is specially designed for its proper conservation. If you do not have one, you can buy a bag specifically for this purpose. It is very important to keep it in a cool, dry place.
Other tips: It is not recommended to use a vacuum cleaner on the duvet as it can cause the threads to separate and thus cause the duvet filling to come out.
