Velfont Premium Fiber Nordic Duvet, a very special Nordic duvet, as it has an outer fabric made of 100% combed cotton, which offers a softness far superior to that of other winter duvets, as well as an inner filling made of special Neotherm® PREMIUM ® hollow fiber, a fiber with a superior weight/volume ratio and a very high thermoregulatory capacity, which is essential when it comes to not causing us to sweat while resting . This is a duvet that also, thanks to its hypoallergenic treatment and breathability, offers anti-mite properties as well as being resistant to washing.

General characteristics of the Velfont Premium Nordic duvet

The Neo Therm Premium Velfont synthetic fibre Nordic filling incorporates as a novelty 100% extra-soft combed natural cotton fabric, instead of polyester microfibre. This Nordic filling is a comfortable, durable, thermoregulating and 100% safe sleeping product, the ideal winter duvet for people with special hypoallergenic needs and/or for people who sweat easily.

INTERIOR FILLING. 100 % NeoTherm® PREMIUM conjugated hollow siliconised fibre . This special fibre offers a volume far superior to that of conventional hollow fibres, lightness, excellent shape recovery when wrinkled or crushed, high thermoregulatory capacity which helps not to sweat during rest, feather touch, great elasticity, high recovery capacity and great longevity of use. This fibre is made up of fine polyester strands, hollow on the inside and differently siliconised on the outside, allowing, thanks to the micro-air channels formed inside each fibre, to avoid the accumulation of humidity inside, bad odours, and acquires a high hypoallergenic capacity.

GRAMMAGE. Available in 250 gr . This synthetic duvet from Velfont , Premium model, is available in 250 gr/m2 weight, which is ideal for cool but not extreme winters.

FABRIC. 100% COMBED natural cotton , made in linear quilting. Cotton itself already offers extraordinary comfort and hygiene properties, but if we add combing to the cotton, it is when they are magnified almost excessively. Combing is a process after carding , in which the short and medium fibers that may have remained after carding are removed from the fabric resulting from the process, leaving only the longest and most resistant fibers of the cotton, then by stretching and twisting the fibers they are arranged in parallel, This process results in a softer, more voluminous fabric with a natural shine, and its resistance is also much greater than that of uncombed fabrics.

BREATHABILITY. Thanks to its hollow channel fibres and natural cotton, this Nordic duvet manages to maintain a high and constant volume, as these hollow fibres have the ability to constantly separate from each other and not clump together, thus providing a space between them through which air can circulate, without dragging the heat trapped in the hollow channel of each filament.

THERMAL LEVEL 1,2,3 and 4 (Scale from 1 to 4). The Velfont Premium model has thermal level 3 for the 250 gr model, which is ideal for rooms between 16º and 22ºC, since this special Premium fiber allows a wider temperature range than conventional fibers.

SAFETY OF USE. The Nordic duvet features Neo Therm® Premium hollow fibre, as well as 100% breathable fabric. Fibre filling that reduces the proliferation of dust mites, maintaining its effectiveness throughout washing. This is a completely anti-allergic product suitable even for people with allergies and/or respiratory problems.

What are mites and how do they affect our health?

WHAT ARE THEY? Mites are micro-organisms, less than half a millimetre in size, that live in dusty, warm and humid environments. Their favourite places are things that are usually not very breathable, such as cushions, duvets, stuffed animals and mattresses, all of which are areas that humans tend to rub against, as these little bugs feed on microscopic flakes of our skin.

HOW DO THEY AFFECT US? Mite particles and their fecal remains remain inside poorly breathable fabrics, as well as in the air of closed spaces. When inhaled, they can cause asthma or rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and atopic skin.

Nordic maintenance and preservation of Velfont fiber

Washing, drying and preservation. The Premium Nordic filling is suitable for washing in any type of domestic washing machine, as long as it is washed at a maximum temperature of 40 ºC in short cycles and with a very gentle spin, do not iron, do not bleach and can be dried at a maximum of 60 ⁰C.

How to store the duvet? Both at mueblesdecasa.net and at Velfont, we recommend using the bag or case from which they are first removed, or alternatively, buying breathable cotton bags specially prepared for the purpose.
